The officers of the Council are from 6th, 7th and 8th and a minimum of one year service is required for all positions. The president’s position is held by an eighth grader who has been on the Council for a minimum of one year. Vice President is held by a seventh or eighth grader. Sixth graders can hold the position of Secretary and Treasurer (7th and 8th graders may also run for the position). Each class in fourth to eighth grade elect two representatives. Representatives are assigned to each grade and special areas to report to about Council activities. The President meets with the Principal for approval of activities. Student Council sponsors service projects which help the school, Saint Zachary community or other areas. Past projects have included canned food drives, no sew blankets, teddy bears for comport, to name a few. The Council also plans some fun activities such as: dress down days, theme days and all school picnic to name a few.
